Racist, Racism and Eugenics

In 1932 the term racist was as a noun. In 1938 racist was an adjective taken from the term race. Originally the term racist was used in the context of Nazi theories. The term racist replaced earlier words, racialism (1907) and racialist (1917), both often used at first in a British or South African context. Racism was first attested in 1936 (from the french term racisme, 1935). Racism is the belief that some races are inherently superior (physically, intellectually, or culturally) to others and therefore have a right to dominate them. Eugenics is the study and practice of selective breeding applied to humans, with the aim of improving the species.

Racist, Racism, Eugenics and Birth Control

"The most merciful thing that a family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."Margaret Sanger (editor). The Woman Rebel, Volume I, Number 1. Reprinted in Woman and the New Race. New York: Brentanos Publishers, 1922.

"Birth control must lead ultimately to a cleaner race."Margaret Sanger. Woman, Morality, and Birth Control. New York: New York Publishing Company, 1922. Page 12.

"The campaign for birth control is not merely of eugenic value, but is practically identical with the final aims of eugenics."Margaret Sanger. "The Eugenic Value of Birth Control Propaganda." Birth Control Review, October 1921, Page 5.

"Eugenics is … the most adequate and thorough avenue to the solution of racial, political and social problems." Margaret Sanger. "The Eugenic Value of Birth Control Propaganda." Birth Control Review, October 1921, Page 5.

"The undeniably feeble-minded should, indeed, not only be discouraged but prevented from propagating their kind."Margaret Sanger, quoted in Charles Valenza. "Was Margaret Sanger a Racist?" Family Planning Perspectives, January-February 1985, Page 44.

"Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives."Margaret Sanger. "Woman and the New Race" with a preference by Havelock Ellis, New York: Brentano’s, 1920.

Abortion Serves The Cause of White Supremacy

Randy Alcorn, my brother in Christ, is the Founder and Director of Eternal Perspective Ministries (EPM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching biblical truth and drawing attention to the needy and how to help them. In 1993 Randy said: “I do not believe that most people who support abortion rights are racists, any more than I believe there are no racists among pro-lifers. I am simply suggesting that regardless of motives, a closer look at both the history and present strategies of the pro-choice movement suggests that ‘abortion for the minorities’ may not serve the cause of equality as much as the cause of supremacy for the healthy, wealthy and white.” (“Eternal Perspectives”, September-October, 1993, Page 9). I believe Randy has a point here and is right on all counts.

Brothers, we really need to talk.
